I was born to a family who raised me to love, and be loyal to, Britain and the values that make her exceptional; democracy, decency, freedom, pluralism and tolerance. It is the belief in these fundamental values that led to my life-long attachment to the Conservative Party and were central to my decision to first stand for Parliament. My career has been marked by my belief in these British values.
