'Just not good enough' State pension payment delay caused pensioner to blow £3,000 savings

PENSIONERS are having to wait months after turning 66 to receive their first instalment of the state pension. The queue of new pensioners aged 66 waiting to get their state pension had doubled to 80,000 people in July a new report found. It has been suggested that part of the delay is due the number of workers who have had to focus their attention on the state pension undercuts that were uncovered last week.
