THE emergence of ‘Workington Man’ as the crucial voter in this election has left many actual Workington men and women feeling bemused as the attention of the nation’s media descends upon them. Labour MPs predictably boarded the outrage bus at this stereotyping of the Northern voters they have failed to represent for years.
