ON THURSDAY I stood alone on the Labour backbenches in the House of Commons to oppose calls for our country to remain in the EU's customs union. The debate was quite farcical, promoted by some Labour MPs who broadly have two things in common: their desire to overturn the result of the referendum and their opposition to Jeremy Corbyn.
