Pound US Dollar exchange rate falls from best levels despite best election win since 1987



Sterling rallied above $1.35 overnight after UK election exit polls predicted the Conservatives would secure a comfortable majority, but the currency has since fallen back to $1.332. GBP/USD initially soared to a 19-month high as markets were optimistic that a Conservative majority would bring an end to over three years of Brexit uncertainty.
