For a nation that does pageantry better than any other, it was no surprise to see yesterday’s Queen’s Speech pulling out all the stops. For all the bizarre political context in which it was made, it’s always thrilling to see British pomp in its full glory. But make no mistake – it was indeed one of the most bizarre of all Queen’s Speeches.
