I sympathise with Omar Salem and I hope his young daughter is soon better and back home. Unlike The Guardian’s leader writers, I can see the pain of having a sick child for what it is – it is no privilege, whoever you happen to be. But Mr Salem’s ambush of the Prime Minister as he visited Whipps Cross Hospital in east London does neither him nor his political party any favours.
