Academy fellowship script reader tells woman her comedy could be 'decent porn'

LOS ANGELES — Rachel Koller is new at screenwriting, but her first experience should prepare her for a lifetime of being a woman in Hollywood.

An industry professional who evaluates scripts for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' prestigious screenwriting competition, the Nicholl Fellowship, dismissed her raunchy female-led comedy as something that "might make a decent porn picture, as the gals do seem kinda hot, at least on the page."

After Koller (above, center) posted about the incident on Facebook, whoever was running the Nicholl Fellowship's Facebook page labeled the comment a "failed joke" and strongly suggested that she disclose her film's title (The Big D) among other things, for context. Read more...
