The pound edged up against the US dollar this afternoon, as the Labour party changed its mind about an early December election, with the pairing currently trading around $1.288. Sterling wobbled on Tuesday as Prime Minister Boris Johnson made another push for a December general election after MPs rejected his bid on Monday.
