TODAY the Daily Express reveals the shocking scale of staff shortages in the NHS. There are 100,000 vacancies - almost half of which are doctors and nurses - adding up to almost one in 10 posts in the NHS workforce of 1.1 million. In addition, the majority of GP practices in England are falling short of at least one doctor.
