IT IS now so common for our car to be broken into that my wife and I no longer bother telling each other when it has happened. Whichever one of us is on the school run will see the telltale signs when we open the car door first thing in the morning. The glove compartments are open and the front seats both pushed back. In winter there's sometimes a footprint on a seat.
