'Turning up the heat' HMRC targets tax dodgers as prosecutions rise after Covid disruption



HMRC IS "turning the heat" on tax evaders as prosecutions of those not paying their fair share has jumped 20 percent since the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic. According to figures from the Government body, HMRC investigations have resulted in 165 individuals being charged with tax evasion in the last six months. This is up a fifth from the 139 people charged the six months prior as HMRC accelerates its operations.
