
THE GOVERNMENT'S proposed hike to the amount people pay in National Insurance will be "disproportionately levied' on lower income Britons, according to a former Health Secretary. Stephen Dorrell, the Liberal Democrat politician who served as Chairman of the House of Commons Health Select Committee from 2010 to 2014 during David Cameron's Coalition, slammed the Government's plans to raise National Insurance to pay for social care funding.
