PENSION incomes from defined benefit schemes are highly treasured but they are fragile given the costs associated with them. The Pension Protection Fund will protect people with DB pensions when a scheme manager becomes insolvent but they, along with the Department for Works and Pensions will be appealing a court ruling on compensation cap rules.
