LONDON — A British tourist has been arrested along with a French tourist after stripping off to pose for nude photos in front of the ancient Machu Picchu ruins in Peru.
Guards at the Inca citadel saw the two men disrobe to take photos on a mobile phone, according to the Andina news agency.
The tourists were detained at a police station and charged with moral misconduct.
The two were named by Fox News Latino as 23-year-old Briton Adam Burton and Frenchman Eric Xavier Mariec, 28.
Peruvian authorities stepped up security in 2014 after nude photos and streaking became increasingly popular at the 15th-century citadel, which has been a Unesco World Heritage site since 1983. Read more...
