After a bug forced Apple to delay its release alongside iOS 9 last week, watchOS 2 is finally available for the Apple Watch. As the first major update for the Apple Watch, the OS now brings with it a number of new features, most important of all being native third-party app support.
Today's update, originally unveiled at WWDC, paves the way for developers to provide a better experience for Apple Watch owners. Right now, third-party apps that run on the watch are beamed down from a paired iPhone, but apps that run directly on the Watch promise to be faster and much more capable. Users can also expect new Complications, custom watch faces, and improvements to Siri, Maps, and Digital Touch.
