Margaret Thatcher is the most successful Conservative leader in history. In 1979, 1983 and 1987 she won what was then an unprecedented three landslide election victories. It took 32 years for any of her Tory successors to manage a similar landslide - until Boris Johnson's 80-seat triumph last December.
