LIFETIME ISAS were launched in 2017 to offer bonus incentives for first time home buyers and retirees. They eventually replaced the help to buy ISA scheme which is now closed. While the Lifetime ISA offers perks that Help to Buy does not, it does have one disadvantage when compared to the old scheme.
