POLICE chief Ken Marsh might rightly rail at us for filming not helping police officers confronted by violent yobs, but the public is stepping up in other ways to fill the gap in visible policing by patrolling our own streets to stop crimes that the police now consider less important - such as burglary and car theft. Government funds are desperately needed to restore our faith in law and order.
