SOME political horrors can only receive the treatment they deserve by using the ideas and metre of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven. So here goes with The May-ven: Once upon a midnight hoary, while I pondered ‘ere the Tory Conference began its gory, curious debating chore, As I daydreamed, nearly sleeping, suddenly there came a creeping Sound like some vile insects leaping, peeping through my chamber door.
