BT workers transfer to Openreach

Thousands of BT workers will transfer to infrastructure arm Openreach today, completing a “major milestone” in creating the separate business. The transfer of 31,000 workers, including fibre broadband engineers, is believed to be the biggest one-off transfer of employees in UK corporate history.

Government must end the persecution of veterans - EXPRESS COMMENT

THE Prime Minister has told the Attorney General Geoffrey Cox to find a way of ending the scandal whereby British military veterans – most of them elderly – of the Troubles are being called to account and have faced prosecution for actions that took place decades ago. Concerns over Asda’s merger

ASDA’S proposed £14billion merger with Sainsbury’s could lead to higher prices or a worse quality of service in 463 local areas, competition watchdogs warned. The Competition and Markets Authority, which last week referred the deal for an in-depth investigation, said there is a “realistic prospect” of a substantial lessening of competition in each of the areas where the rivals’ stores overlap.
