Excessive doubling has come in for severe criticism in the annual report of the Department of Unnecessary Doubling which draws attention to two sets of figures highlighting runaway twofold multiplication. In his introduction to the report, Sir Tintin Evans-Evans, the Minister for Doubling first mentions the disturbing amount of double-checking that is taking place.
