POLITICS should be about passion and ideas. We rightly complain when lobby-fodder MPs seem to spend an entire career saying and doing nothing of interest to anyone. But politics should also fundamentally be about reality. You can have all the passion and ideas in the world but if you’re away with the fairies you might as well not bother.
