LONDON — A woman who questioned the way Whole Foods packages oranges has prompted an in-depth debate on Twitter
London-based advertising creative Nathalie Gordon tweeted a photo of the offending packaging, which features pre-peeled oranges in plastic containers, writing: “If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn’t need to waste so much plastic on them.”
Whole Foods has chosen to remove the product from its shelves, opting to keep oranges in their "natural packaging."
However, not everyone backed Whole Foods' decision to pull the product, with some arguing that the pre-peeled oranges might be of use to people who have limited use of their hands, such as people with arthritis or rheumatism. Read more...
