Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders put Flint water crisis in debate spotlight

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders didn't waste time addressing the ongoing water crisis during Sunday night's presidential debate in Flint, Michigan, slamming the state government and demanding help for Flint's people.

Both candidates demanded that Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder resign — a first for Clinton — and said the government needed to do more to help the thousands affected by lead poisoning in Flint's water system.

"What I heard and what I saw literally shattered me and it was literally beyond belief that children in Flint, Michigan in the United States of America in 2016 are being poisoned," Sanders said during the opening moments of the debate. Read more...
