After weeks of waiting, the year's most important film awards presentation is almost here
We're talking, of course, about the 36th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards — a yearly event dedicated to torching the movie industry's most hilariously awful (and just plain awful) products. You probably won't be surprised to learn that this year's crop of nominees features several citations for Universal's Fifty Shades of Grey, a major motion picture based on a 500-page work of Twilight fanfiction.
Fifty Shades earned a whopping six nods Wednesday, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor (poor Jamie Dornan) and Worst Director (Sam Taylor-Johnson). And it's not alone: Three other films earned six nominations as well, including a disappointing would-be blockbuster (Pixels), a pretentious, wannabe-artsy failure (Jupiter Ascending) and a Paul Blart (Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2).
