Thousands in Taiwan were forced to evacuate their homes on Monday as Typhoon Dujuan made landfall there, bringing huge waves, heavy rain and strong winds that battered the island.
The typhoon, which made landfall as a Category 4 storm, slammed the east coast of Taiwan as it made landfall in Yilan county.
Tens of thousands of homes on the island lost power as the storm barreled through.
