The game that inspired 'BioShock' has been remastered for modern PCs

Before there was BioShock, before there was even Deus Ex, there was System Shock.

The classic sci-fi adventure from Looking Glass Studios left a deep mark on gaming. Now it's more playable than it has been in a long time, thanks to a new "Enhanced Edition" release from Night Dive Studios. It's still the same game you remember from 1994 — just updated to run well on modern PCs.

The big change is improved support for a range of display resolutions. The original game capped out at 640x480, but Night Dive's remaster brings the max resolution up to 1024x768, with 854x480 now included as an option for those with widescreen monitors. Read more...
