Report: Aussie startup success Atlassian to go public in the U.S.

Continuing its quest for world domination, Australian software developer Atlassian plans to file for an IPO in the U.S., according to a recent report.

Based in Sydney and with offices in six countries, the company aims to make a public offering in America by the end of 2015, people familiar with the deal told the Wall Street Journal.

Atlassian offers 15 popular tools for software developers and project managers, at companies large and small, including team chat platform HipChat and Jira, a work-tracking program.

Founded by Scott Farquhar and Mike Cannon-Brookes in 2002, the startup is regarded as something of a unicorn in the Australian startup scene, with a private valuation of US$3.3 billion, according to the Journal Read more...
