If you're voting in New Hampshire, you can now safely snap a photo of yourself in the voting booth — and show your friends on Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat how you voted

A federal judge struck down a law in the first-in-the-nation primary state banning the sharing of “ballot selfies” on social media on Tuesday.

The decision comes after plaintiffs sued in federal court to strike down the law on First Amendment grounds.

Gilles Bissonette, legal director for the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union, which filed the lawsuit on behalf of the plaintiffs, praised the decision in an interview with Mashable. He said the law "encroached on pure political speech done on social media." Read more...
