Billboard's Hot 100 music festival redeems itself after a sluggish start

LONG ISLAND, New York — Billboard staged the inaugural Hot 100 Festival this past weekend, its first foray in the crowded summer outdoor music space. But what was originally hyped as a musical experience unlike any other faced plenty of problems from the beginning.

From sluggish ticket sales to a less-than-ideal location and expensive prices (at least to begin with), the event got off to a sluggish start. However, with a kickass lineup — including Justin Bieber's comeback and stellar touring acts — the event settled into a groove
