BBC needs no holds barred review - and this is why, says JULIAN KNIGHT MP

It’s time for a root and branch - no holds barred - review into the future of the BBC, how it is funded and what it’s role should be in our national life. I have had lots of emails from constituents who feel that Aunty has badly lost her way - particularly over it’s reporting of the too-ing and fro-ing of Brexit but more generally in it’s metropolitan outlook on our lives. As a result, more and more constituents and ordinary people on the street are asking me why, when they feel out of touch with the BBC, they are faced with a stark choice pay the licence fee or go to prison? And I don’t have an answer for them.
