FRENCH President Emmanuel Macron's offer of the Bayeux Tapestry coming to England for the first time in 940 years is a timely reminder of what happened the last time we were overwhelmed by illegal immigrants. After the defeat at the battle of Hastings in 1066 the unwelcome continental invaders wreaked havoc and slaughter, stealing land and property from the English and distributing it to their followers.
