Economists must accept they can’t predict the future, says Ross Clark



IT IS refreshing to hear the Bank of England’s chief economist Andy Haldane admit that his profession has suffered a couple of “Michael Fish” moments: first in failing to foresee the crash of 2008/09 and then falsely warning that the economy would crash as a result of the Brexit vote.
