New kitchen gadget tuns all your food into edible beads

You may soon be able to turn all your meals into beads that look like caviar — or at least, Dippin' Dots

The "Imperial Spherificator," a kitchen gadget making its way through Kickstarter, promises to streamline the process that allows home chefs to turn their food into small edible pearls.

The gadget, currently $115 to $135 on Kickstarter (depending on when you back it), streamlines a culinary technique knows as spherification

"Spherification simply put is the culinary process of shaping a liquid into spheres which visually and texturally resemble caviar or pearls," the company explains on its website. "You can produce pearls and caviar with a liquid center by using a reverse technic called Reverse Spherification." Read more...
